Do you need Traders?
If you are running an Historical event and aiming to attract the public then there is no question to answer.

Staged events, such as a battle or a joust can only last for a limited period of time, and both before and after the main event  the public like to wander around the site. From the moment the gate opens the traders will be fully costumed and ready to welcome the public!. Re-enactors can take some time to emerge from their tents!
A  well planned Historic Market is in itself an attraction and will provide a colourful and entertaining backdrop, which the visitors will always remember.

However, a badly laid out and uninteresting market will have the opposite effect and leave your customers very disappointed with the whole event.

The Guidelines for Organisers have been drawn up by experienced traders in order to help everyone improve the standards of Historical and Living History Market presentations, and the photographs have been chosen to give some idea of what can be seen at an Historic market.
